Using the Sagarin Ratings from USA Today and giving Butler a 2.5 point home edge here are the final four odds:
- Duke 60% chance to beat West Virginia
- Butler 67% chance to beat Michigan State
- Duke has 40% chance to win tourney, Butler 29% , West Virginia 22% and Michigan State 9%.
Wayne,
I would really like to see some sort of analysis on the NCAA tournament and 3 pointers. With both Duke and WVU performances this weekend - I have come to the conclusion 3 point shots have become too valuable and would like to see the line moved back to the NBA standard. I know the NBA and NCAA have both moved the line back in recent years, but the NCAA line is still well inside the NBA - about 2 feet at least. I thought both Kentucky and Baylor were better teams but both lost due to discrepancy in 3 point shooting. Like hockey where you can run into a hot goalie - the tournament you run into one streaky 3 shooter and your toast.

The NCAA also needs to get rid of that ridiculous 35-second shot clock? More than half a minute per possession? It’s absurd, it makes the game truly atrocious to watch at times, and it makes comebacks exceedingly difficult.
